Twenty-Six Seconds: An Evening with Alexandra Zapruder
November 22, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm| $15 - $44
Abraham Zapruder’s home movie capturing the assassination of President John F. Kennedy as his motorcade passed through Dealey Plaza includes perhaps the most iconic 26 seconds of film in history—the first major instance of citizen journalism.
Join The Sixth Floor Museum on the anniversary of President Kennedy’s death for this special evening event with Abraham Zapruder’s granddaughter, Alexandra Zapruder, discussing her new book, Twenty-Six Seconds: A Personal History of the Zapruder Film, in which she delves into the fraught history of her grandfather’s famous film. Part biography, part family history and part historical narrative, Zapruder shows how 26 seconds of film changed a family and raised some of the most important social, cultural and moral questions of our time.
