The Museum salutes active duty military personnel and their families by offering free admission on four holidays this summer.

Summer Holidays Mean Free Museum Admission for U.S. Military and Family Members

DALLAS/May 25, 2010—To salute the troops this summer, The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is offering free admission for active duty members of the U.S. Military and up to five immediate family members on Memorial Day (May 31), Flag Day (June 14), Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day (September 6). To receive the free admission, members of the U.S. Military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, active duty Reserve and active duty National Guard—must show active duty ID. Immediate family members include spouses, siblings and children of the ID holder.

"As a Navy veteran, President Kennedy believed that our country owes a great debt to those in military service," says Nicola Longford, the museum's executive director. "The Sixth Floor Museum is deeply grateful to the active duty men and women and their families whose sacrifices keep our nation safe and the goal of global peace alive."

The Museum is located at 411 Elm Street in downtown Dallas. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Audio guides are available in seven languages, and a youth version is available in English.

Regular price admission is $13.50 for adults, $12.50 for youth (6-18 years) and seniors (65+), and free (or $3.50 with audio guide) for children five years and younger. For more information, visit or call 214-747-6660.
