Videotaped oral history interview with Bill and Gayle Newman -- The closest eyewitnesses to the Kennedy limousine at the time of the fatal shot, Mr. and Mrs. Newman were on the north side of Dealey Plaza and shielded their small children after the shots were fired. They were then interviewed on live television approximately fifteen minutes after the assassination. The Newmans recorded a videotaped oral history interview on 3/10/1993 and a second videotaped oral history interview on 7/10/2003. In addition, they appeared in a videotaped public program at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza on 11/22/2004.
