Overview

Dr. Charles J. "Jim" Carrico was a resident surgeon and the first Parkland Hospital doctor to see and treat President Kennedy. He inserted an endotracheal tube to help restore his breathing shortly before other doctors assisted. Dr. Carrico filed his handwritten report at 4:20 that afternoon, less than four hours after the assassination.
