Original 35mm black and white negative taken by Dallas Times Herald staff photographer Darryl Heikes. This image shows the location at 404 E. Tenth Street in Oak Cliff where Dallas Police J.D. Tippit was killed on November 22, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. The image is labeled #11 on section 2 of negative strip 22.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip indicate that the photographer was Darryl Heikes. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that Heikes did indeed take these pictures.
