Image 15 from Negative Strip 45: Parkland Hospital of police officers in a hallway corridor
Original 35mm black and white negative taken by one of two Dallas Times Herald staff photographers on November 24, 1963: Andy Hanson or Eamon Kennedy. It is unknown which of the two men took these pictures. The image shows a group of Dallas Police officers in the hallway escorting the body of Lee Harvey Oswald to the Parkland Hospital morgue. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. This image is labeled #15 on section 2 of negative strip 45.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip identified the photographer as Andy Hanson. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that it is not possible to say at this time whether the photos of this strip and of Negative Strip 44 were taken by Andy Hanson or by Eamon Kennedy. We concluded that the photos were taken by one of those two men and both strips were taken by the same photographer. (Katie Womack, 8/20/13) Also noted at the 2012 curatorial meeting: the images on this strip were taken on Sunday, 11-24-63.
