Image 16 from Negative Strip 37: Dallas Police Department of Lee Harvey Oswald with police detective escorts talking to reporters
Original 35mm black and white negative taken by an unidentified Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows Lee Harvey Oswald being led away from the midnight press conference amid a crowd of reporters at the Dallas Police Department headquarters. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. This image is labeled #16 on section 2 of negative strip 37.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip did not identify a photographer. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that it is not possible to say at this time who took the photos, although we did note that the photographer for negative strip 37 is NOT the same as the photographer who took the pictures on negative strip 38. There is a possibility that Darryl Heikes took the photos on strip 38 but this cannot be verified at this time. (Katie Womack, 7/25/13)Oswald being led away from midnight press conference
