Image 7A from Negative Strip 9: Motorcade of a crowd running down the streets of downtown Dallas

Original 35mm black and white negative taken by Dallas Times Herald staff photographer Darryl Heikes. This image shows the crowd dispersing on Main Street after the presidential motorcade has passed on November 22, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. The image is labeled #7A on section 1 of negative strip 9.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip attributed the photographs to Darryl Heikes. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that this attribution is correct.
