The image is a child holding a sign welcoming President Kennedy at Love Field in Dallas, Texas on Friday, November 22, 1963. Other children are visible behind her. They are behind a chain-link fence and are standing next to a tall metal pole. Their sign reads “Onward J.F.K. Grassroots-Democrats.” On the reverse is one red ink stamp reading, “This photograph is not to be reproduced without permission of The Dallas Morning News”. One black ink stamp reading: “DALLAS MORNING NEWS / NOV 22 1963 / NEWS STAFF PHOTO.”
