Elmer L. Boyd

A Dallas police homicide detective, Boyd was heavily involved in the local assassination investigation and served as one of Oswald’s primary handlers on Friday and Saturday. Boyd was at the Dallas Trade Mart, Parkland Memorial Hospital, the Texas School Book Depository, and Dallas police headquarters during the course of that weekend. He was also with Oswald during his initial interrogations, police lineups, paraffin tests, and the midnight press showing of the suspect. Previously, Boyd worked a security detail for Lyndon Johnson in the last days of the 1960 campaign and for President Kennedy when he briefly visited Dallas in 1962.
