Curatorial Note:

It appears that this image is underexposed, producing a dark image because not enough light was allowed in to make the picture. When Museum staff scanned this negative strip in 2012, they used photo editing software to try to correct the underexposure, allowing us to see some detail in the images that was not visible before. - Katie Womack, Collections Manager
