Curatorial Note:

Mr. Carr passed away on February 25, 2004. Although I was not present for Mr. Carr's oral history interview in 1995, I had the distinct pleasure of speaking with him shortly before his death. When the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin invited me to participate in a public program to mark the 40th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination in November 2003, I immediately recommended Mr. Carr also be included in the event. Less than three months before his death at age 85, Carr delivered a wonderful lecture about the day of the shooting and later working with the Warren Commission. Following the program, I had the chance to chat with him for a few minutes, and we talked of possibly recording an updated oral history for the Museum's archives sometime in 2004. Unfortunately, he passed away before we had the opportunity to meet again. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
