“The City of Hate”?

April 12, 2014 | 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Did Dallas deserve the moniker, “The City of Hate” following President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963? Did the city’s pockets of extremism and paranoia of the time create an atmosphere where assassination of the president was possible? A screening of the documentary, “City of Hate: Dallas and the Assassination,” by longtime Dallas resident, journalist and filmmaker Quin Mathews, was followed by an in-depth discussion between Mathews and Bill Minutaglio, co-author of “Dallas 1963,” named one of the top non-fiction books of 2013.
