Nuclear Test Ban Treaty

President Kennedy signs the ratified Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. It was ratified on August 5, 1963, by the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It prohibits nuclear tests or explosions under water, in the atmosphere, or in outer space.
